Amy J. Martin (66) of Aberdeen passed away on Friday February 9, 2018 at her home. She was born in Toppenish on December 8, 1951 to Gilbert D. and Dorothy (Miller) Sweowat Sr. Amy was raised and educated in Toppenish and moved to Grays Harbor County in 1996. She was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation and was also a homemaker who helped raise her grandchildren while her daughter worked. She was a professional pool player, played fastpitch, enjoyed walking the beaches looking for eaglefeathers, camping, collecting dolls, traveling, beadworking and cooking family dinners. She is survived by three daughters, Eva Martin of Taholah, Buffy and Gidgit Cole both of Aberdeen; numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her brother, Preston Windsor; four sisters, Melvern Littlewolf, Marcia Sweowat, Karen Spencer and Dina McGwire; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse and several siblings. Dressing services will be at Colonial Funeral Home at 2PM Tuesday February 13, 2018 with overnight services following at the White Swan Independent Shaker Church. Interment will be at 10AM Wednesday at the Methodist Cemetery. Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
