Carmen Sanchez (90) of Toppenish passed away on Monday July 1, 2019 at her home. Carmen was born in Kenedy, TX on February 27, 1929 to Victor and Petra (Arredondo) Alejandro. She was raised and educated in Texas and moved to the Yakima Valley in the early 60’s where she worked as a farm laborer. She enjoyed cooking for her children, yard work, flowers, crocheting, and spending time outside. Carmen is survived by her three daughters, Rosa Benavidez, Carmen (Johnny) Ramirez, and Araceli (Javier) Tobias; four sons, John Benavidez, Jesse (Lupe) Benavidez, Claudio Benavidez, and Carlos Benavidez; a sister, Kika Sainz; and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, and four sisters. The Recitation of the Rosary will be on Thursday July 4, 2019 at 4:00PM at Heggie’s Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00AM on Friday July 5, 2019 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Toppenish, WA. Heggie's Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
