Clay Hollis Smith, age 52, of Wapato, WA, was called home January 17, 2022. Clay was born April 18, 1969 in Tacoma, WA. He was raised on the Yakama Indian Reservation. He graduated from White Swan High School in 1988. Clay worked for the Yakama Nation Facility Management Program. He was an enrolled member of Arikara Nation, Fort Berthold, North Dakota and a Yakama Nation Descendent. Clay loved hunting and fishing, picking huckleberries and digging roots. He loved being amongst his family, his children and grandchildren. He was a “Jack of all Trades”. He was always willing to help others, whether it was fixing, building or installing anything around the house. He never sat idle, he always had busy hands. He loved his Seattle Seahawks. He survived by his loving daughters Vivian Smith and Mikayla Smith, parents Roger and Peggy Sanchey, brothers Dugan Smith, Reagan Smith, Cameron Smith, sisters Chera Lynn Smith, Denise Smith, Elizabeth Sanchey and Shawna Young, grandchildren Kyra Smith, Malayah Morgan, Izayah Juarez and Keilani Juarez, and uncle Virgil Eagle. He shared the remainder of his life living with his best friend Michelle Sconawah, Kelijah Alvarado and Zoey Olney. He was loved and cared for by his other parents Harold and Priscilla Blackwolf. He proceeded in death by his father Fred Smith, brother T.J. Smith, and sister Winnie Smith. Services will be at Colonial Funeral Home in Toppenish, WA, January 20, 2022 at 9:00 am. Following services, he will then be taken to Yemowat Cemetery for his final resting place.
