It was this natural passion that, after raising her two sons, led her back to school to obtain her Master's in Education also specializing in areas to help those with particular difficulties such as English as Second Language learners and Early Childhood Development. As an active member of her community Connie helped in many fundraisers for the local Toppenish Parish and numerous events around the Diocese of Yakima. Connie considered her work at the cemetery to be her ministry, helping families during their time of need and thereafter. Connie will be remembered for her mentorship and spirit of service and is survived by her husband Fermin Hernandez Sr., two sons Fermin Hernandez Jr. and Ismael Hernandez, her father Berney and step-mother Bertha, as well her as two sisters Victoria and Patricia and brother Berney Jr.
