On January 15 Mary Jean Dick aka Mojo was called by the creator. She lost her battle with Breast Cancer. She was born to Evans and Caroline Dick December 20, 1964 in Toppenish. She will be remembered for her sense of Humor and outgoing personality. She was dad's baby, grew up in Satus and graduated from Granger High School. She wanted to find out more about the world so she struck out on her own and moved to Seattle where she became a manager at a McDonald's restaurant. At that time she was involved in a serious accident in Seattle which prevented her from returning to work and was forced to move back to Satus. Worked for Yakama Nation legends casino in Food & Beverage for 10 years. Mojo was a life long Food gatherer for Satus Longhouse. Her Ulla Maggie Sam Dick gave her an Indian name at the independent shaker church to help her work gathering our traditional foods. She was also a Satus Longhouse pow wow Queen. Also an avid Seattle Mariners and Storm fan where she attended games when she could. Then her first battle with Breast Cancer kept her from working so she decided to be a grandmother and help raise kids. Among them are Devante Lewis, Lucas Wahpat, Caleb Wahpat, and Maddison Wahpat. Also supported student athletes in sports by going to games whenever they played. There is another person she shared birthdays with and they called each other sister- Colleen Miller. When our dad's health started to decline she became caregiver for him till he left us. Later she adopted a dog and named him Hennie Sour Patch Squeoch and they were always together. Mojo is survived by her brothers Roy, Warren Dick and Howard Wahpat. Sisters Wendy Squeoch, Marlene George special nieces Leona and Tiffany Squeoch. Aunts Marian Squeoch,Trina Sherwood, Diane Benson, Darlene Benson, Pat Atkins and Bonita Herman. Uncles Cyrus Squeoch Sr, Roger Sr. Reggie Atkins, Jerry Meninick. Grand children- Devante Lewis, Caleb and Lucas Wahpat, and Mattie Redthender. Leaving before her are her parents Evans and Caroline Dick, sister Sharon Squeoch Thompson, grandparents Maggie Sam Dick, Mose Dick Sr., Horsely Benson and Mabel Benson, Aunts Ginger Benson, Delores Shock, Edith Frank, Gloria Atkins Sally Dick. Uncles Tom Benson, Tony Atkins and numerous other relatives.
