Nieves Lopez is now at peace. February 14 was the day he was called home. Born in 1966 to Nieves and Connie Lopez as their only child, he lived a cherished life in Toppenish. He graduated Toppenish High School enjoying many fun experiences in music. He loved performing while playing the drums. He played in the marching band and the Maximum Blues. It was during these experiences where he met the love of his life - his wife, Angie. After high school he continued at YVC then finished at WSU. He earned his bachelor's degree in engineering. He landed a job at the USDA-NRCS right out of college. He was just about to retire and start a new chapter in his life after a 30 year career. He will be missed by many who knew him. Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 17 at 1:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery in Toppenish. We will hold a BBQ/gathering to honor him at a later date.
